WHAT IS Statistics?

Statistics is a branch of mathematics dealing with data collection, organization, analysis, interpretation and presentation.

For example, there is queue in Mc-Donald’s and 4 people are standing 1,2,3,4

Now 1^st person takes 5 burgers.

          2^nd person takes 4 burgers

          3^rd person takes 6 burgers.

          4^th person takes 3 burgers.

To represent this data statistically we draw this graph.

As you can see from this graph, it has two axis-

x-axis contains people 1,2,3,4.

Y-axis contains No. of burgers they have taken.
